Dustin the Jaguar
Dustin arrived at the Wildlife Waystation in 1986, along with his sibling, Eric, after living with a private party who could no longer care for him. They were three years old at the time.
He is admired by everyone who visits him for his regal personality, strong physique and beautiful coat. Like most jaguars, Dustin’s favorite pastime is sleeping 18 to 20 hours every day. Dustin’s all-time favorite snack is fresh fish, which is delivered to him by caring volunteers who love to keep him happy.

The jaguar, or Panthera onca, is the largest cat of the Americas. Currently its range is primarily limited to the jungles of Central and South America due to the loss of habitat in other regions. This powerful creature has the second strongest jaw of any land mammal on Earth.
Although not quite as agile as the leopard, the jaguar climbs trees to stalk prey, and it also is an excellent swimmer. They are normally solitary animals. Males and females stay together for only a few weeks at a time for breeding purposes. After a gestation period of 93 to 105 days, jaguars give birth to a litter of one to four offspring.
